Transmission Replacement
Transmission Replacement
I am new to the Corvair seen....I was wondering if anyone knew if an 65 Monza sedan could have the automatic transmission replaced with a manual transmission?....Thanks...

Re: Transmission Replacement
Yes it can... You need the entire transaxle Diff and trans along with the engine bellhousing, Shift tube, clutch cable, throw out fork and rod, Clutch , Flywheel, Pressure plate, Throw out bearing,Pilot bearing, Clutch fork z bar with hardware, Pedal assembly for under the dash, Shifter for the floor, clutch cable pulley and some hardware.
I'm sure I forgot something.. Like a Manual transmission dash so you don't have the dash shifter still in place.
If you have all of the parts ready the conversion isn't to hard to do. The floor of all automatics cars have the access panel covering the floor shifter location.
