There got it. Sorry gents I was trying to say how to embed the video here on the forum instead of linking out to YouTube. Either way it works fine :)

Still a shame how covered up this poor car was. Darn good thing it's in the hands of a skilled craftsmen :fro:

Clarks lower windshield panel fitted and new metal at top of fenders, I hope the rear end is in better condition apart from pass side fenderwell.

Mart I really wish I were close to you so I could learn from you. I have an awful time trying to do body repairs =( Fighting with some right now. Might you be interested in doing an instructional step by step body repair thread demonstrating one of your metal patch jobs? (preferably an exterior panel where it needs to be straight when finished).

I'd love to see how you made those beautiful repairs. My 65 180 car needs the same repair as yours did below the windshield and into the tops of the fenders. I've got the patch panel but I'm terrified of the tops of the fenders part of it.

I dont consider myself good at this sort of thing, its a skill learned out of necessity. I tend to try to buy patches from cars that have similar shapes to the one I'm repairing, then get the final shape by adding or subtracting metal then using Bondo to finnish. A skilled body man would shape the patches perfect and just skim the weld with bondo. It will be interesting to see how these rear fenders turn out as my initial thought is to use Jag XJ6 parts, or maybe Ford Transit van. Its hard to adapt pieces like fender lips as our cars are much smaller than US models and it is against my principles to use fiberglass patches such as sold by Clarks. As this car is in such poor shape I dont mind if some areas look modified as long as it is strong and not too odd looking

Mart, don't sell yourself short! You are doing an amazing job on your car!!!!
It is sad that you bough what you though was an already "finished" car only to find that it is a mess that you have to clean up!
Many others would have thrown in the towel and become bitter and never gone to the extent to make the car not only safe to drive but bring it back to what it "was" supposed to be.
Keep up the good work.
You are welcome to send me a PM if there is any way I can help.

Must admit I'm getting tired of it, its one of the worst condition cars I've ever owned, and thats saying something given where I live and the limited money I have, but Im in too deep financially to back out now. It will never be worth what has been spent on it....but it will live again :banghead:

Yeeesh, mart.....this oughta be an episode of 20/20, by gawd. To have seen the pics of that car advertised by the dealer, it's downright criminal. Hats off you, buddy.....try and keep them hands warm.
