Clarks clutch cable?
Anyone know much about the Clarks replacement clutch cables? Are they any good? I picked one up on Ebay for cheap, advertised as NOS, it has a Clarks part number on it....

I haven't had to replace mine yet. You'll have to be the guinea pig and test it out. ;)

Thing is, I don't need it. I picked it up for a spare due to it being new, and the price. $9.99

Re: Clarks clutch cable?
I replaced the one on my '66 with a Clarks. Well its a clutch cable...doesn't look as strong as laundry cable...so we'll see next year I suppose (BTW - I'm in the GWN).
If it fails, I'm going chain.

Re: Clarks clutch cable?
has anyone gone to a hydraulic clutch
Re: Clarks clutch cable?
oooh, yeah. I would like to do that also. Maybe we should start a topic specifically for it?

There are external slave cylinders you can get, aftermarket for the VW's, wonder if that would work. I will have to dig them up, the buggy guys and race guys use them.

I put a Clark's cable in mine 2 years ago and so far it's been fine. But of course that's one of those things that's fine until it isn't anymore.

Re: Clarks clutch cable?
Take the extra and stash it under your door sill plate and the side of the rear seat. Then when you do need it, it'll be handy.
