Hello everybody from the Corvair Forum, some people already now me (from facebook or somewhere else) and some don't, but let me introduce myself:

i'm Ralf Verhees and life in the Netherlands Europe, and i have sinds 1,5 year a Corvair Lakewood.

I drove it for a year and started this winter with the full restoration of the car.
I'll will make a project topic so you can follow the project along the way. I'll post there where i started untill now.

sorry for my english i'll hope you can understand it, but it is sometimes not correct english (but i'll do my best)

Sweet ride!

The rack on the roof reminds me of the 62 Corvair wagon I had back in the early 80's. It had a ladder rack and I carried a 16' fiberglass extension ladder and step ladder on top. I had a small business wiring apartment buildings/hotels/motels for cable TV service. The wagon was too rusty to save and go donated to a club member for parts.

Have I seen pictures of this one before? Perhaps before a repaint and also some photo shop pictures

yes that was one of the idees when he just arrived in the netherlands,

the interior was also very bad so they make a new interior and than they sold it on before the paint it like this idee

Welcome Ralf!.....very cool ride! It's got a clean profile....and I'll bet you won't see any other Corvair Lakewoods over where you're at. At least I don't think so.

Yes you are correct, i'm the only Lakewood on the road in the netherlands, i now another one but it is standing in a museum in the netherlands and have a USA title and papers (not legal to drive it on the dutch road)

So i'm verry happy that it is a unique car :cool:

progres on the car is not speeding up, waiting for a lot of parts, But i start to clean the suspension parts.

@ cockroach, you can get a lakewood any time, search when you're ready and you will find a lakewood
