:chevy:
Is this (see photo) what the accelerator pump should look like for the secondary carburetors on a 140 HP.

Yes, that looks correct.
140 secondary does not have a pump cup on it.
Some people use them but not required.
Currently own: '66Monza Coupe, '67Monza Vert, '67A/C Monza Sport Sedan
Have owned: '61Monza Coupe, '62Monza Wagon, '63Spyder, '65 Corsa

'65 secondaries used the pump cup but they only had 1 discharge hole. The later secondary carbs may not have been drilled to used the pump cup. When the choke lockout came out in late '65 the need for the squirt of fuel was not needed enough so GM dropped them.

I'm not seeing it in my mind clearly but shouldn't it still have a spring?

Beginning in the 1966 model year the cup on the pump was eliminated.
Yes there should be a spring between the lower flange and upper slot for "C" clip IF the little shaft with the 90 degree bend moves freely up and down (some later secondary dummy units were solid). There is also a lower spring in the well to push up the pump unit to close the throttle via linkage on the carburetor.

NOTE Clark's sells their accelerator pumps WITHOUT the spring you may be missing!!
See picture of used unit with spring at https://californiacorvairparts.com/used ... -pump.html

There were a few revisions to the secondaries. 1965 models had accelerator cups, then they were removed. Some owners put them in on 1966-67 secondaries. YOU CANNOT USE A CUP IN A 1968-69 secondary (no fuel passages for it).
See article on all the changes in .pdf.

Thank you all.
Yes, I forgot to put the pump spring back onto it before I took the photo.
Yes, I have 2 springs. 1 on the pump itself and the other in the pump carburetor well.
