I'm Baaaack!

Post by Corventure Dave »

I have been away from this site for quite a while. Lots going on, including a complete new suspension. I put it off
long enough. But last year I came to the conclusion that after a crazy year of more than usual traveling, I had to get it done.
Sooo. in November I had my Left knee replaced. And then this past February, the Right knee replaced.
Unfortunately Clark's didn't have any parts that would fit. So I had to go with a local supplier.
Recovering now but I think they forgot to put in grease zerks. But new cars don't have them anyway, so I should
be alright. The break in period had been a real challenge. But I'm getting there.
Valveeta and Dainer's Rampside will be making trucks to events and shows real soon.

Let's start a thread on what kind of oil you need to use in those new knees and proper break in procedure as well.

Synovial Fluid is the OEM lubricant for knees. Here's hoping for a full recovery for those knees.

My son has Adolescent Blounts Disease. It primarily affects obese, black, females and yet he is a 6'3," all of 130 pounds, white, male - go figure. His lower legs grew twisted and that affected his knees. He has had 5 operations to deal with that cutting the bones and straightening the leg. It straightened the legs but didn't help the knees. Poor kid had been in pain since his teens (32 now) but they say no knee replacement until he is WAY older. So, if you are getting 60-70+ years out of your knees - be thankful.

Glad your up and around. Surgeries for parts wearing out is no fun, still in PT myself.

To Wittsend.
I'm wishing the best for your Son and his condition. I can't imagine.
For me it's been just 6 months of pain, discomfort and many sleepless nights
avoiding the narcotics and opting for ice packs instead. I'm 69 and this has really
been trying my patience. So I can't imagine what your Son is going through.
I can however say that with the technology's today and aggressive PT on my part
I am amazed at what they can do and I'm happy with the results of my experience
with this.
Sending Positive vibes to your Son.
