Want to Trade for 1965-69 Heads. Offering 1964 Turbo Heads

Post by playerpage »

I have two dirty but intact 1964 turbo heads that I received from a reputable Corvair guy, Caveman_1960, in Michigan. I got them with the intent of using them as replacements on my 1967 Powerglide 110 convertible. They aren't the exact heads of course but in general a Powerglide can take anything from 95 hp to 180 turbo (using Rochester carbs) without a problem. Turbo heads have lower compression of course but that doesn't really bother me with the way I use the car.

Anyway, that was why I picked them up, but I failed to take into account that while the 64 engine has the higher displacement of all the later engines, it is unique in its gasket configuration. Rather than try to do a lot of machining to get this set of heads onto that 1967, I would like to swap with someone out there.

All I'm asking for is a set of 1965-1969 heads that, if cleaned, could be dropped right back onto place. Something that you saved in the back of your garage. I'm not interested in 140 heads, and I don't want heads with dropped valves that need serious rebuilding. I just want something I can slap on to my car.

I'm willing to trade straight across, on faith. Despite a number of bad deals in my recent past I still believe that Corvair guys are good, nay, the best, people. Send pictures, and then we can talk about things but in the end I'm looking to just pay shipping for mine and you pay shipping for yours and there we go.

The pictures with this post are of my 1964 heads. Thanks for reading. Send me a private message or email me at playerpage.geo@yahoo.com and we'll do business.
