Front end is good honest work, hopefully the '64 stuff all bolts up the same without drama. When you do the rear are you installing the '64 leaf spring?

When I did my '67, the front end was rusty and I expected broken bolts but not one broke. The rear was not rusty in comparison but I broke several bolts. Extremely frustrating.

Currently have the car tore apart. I’m finally working on the suspension and brakes. I’m replacing the ‘60 suspension with suspension from a 1964. While I’m at it I’m installing the new fuel tank I bought from Clark’s. I’m trying to get it all done before a couple October shows I want to make it to. So I’m only doing the front suspension now. The rear will have to wait until after the fan belt toss.

Just adding the front sway bar helps the handling even without the rear 64 upgrade. However, adding the 64 rear setup is well worth it.

In 63 there was an optional front sway bar. With the 64 rear suspension changes the front sway bar became standard. Keep in mind some have reported the attachment hardware for 64 sway bar can break! In 65 the front sway bar hardware was beefed up.

A couple folks have installed the front suspension from a 66-69 with the sway bar (bolts right in). BUT they install the front spindles and drums from the EM suspension into the LM arms. This also allows the camber to be adjusted with the lower egocentric instead of the hard to get to EM shims.

It has been reported the 64 sway bar was bigger than the 63 and the 65-59 was slightly bigger or maybe the same as 64. I have not confirmed this.

I'm not sure about the 64-65+ difference but in the Clark's catalog the sway bar bushings show 62-63 as one style and 64-69 as another.

Upgrading to ‘64 front suspension progress. Also replacing all the brake lines, brake components, new fuel tank and sending unit.
Front end is out. Old tank is out.
Installing the new hard lines and it looks like Clark’s sent me the wrong line.

Suspension is in. 1964 suspension and sway bar. I can’t wait to drive it again. I'm thankful GM (and Clark's) made a provision in the 1960 tank to clear the sway bar.

The 64 front end is in. Now to decide…
cut the springs and run the 16” wheels like before,
or raise the back slightly and run the Billet Specialties wheels?

As the saying goes --- "Don't ask a question if you won't like the answer". It really is up to you. But I like the top photo with the traditional and smaller wheels. The younger crowd will probably like that "donk" larger wheels.

Some of these wheel diameters are pushing the available space in the wheel wells so far it looks like the tires were installed as a thin coating on the rim using a paint brush!

I should have grabbed a picture. I was at the John Deere dealer today. They had a tractor out front on what looked like "wagon wheels". I asked and they said "we can now have them shipped without wheels". I said "It looks like you should paint it black and hitch a horse to it". Dennis

Nashfan and airflow pulley arrived today from AmericanPi.
The pulley has a nick in it which is a bummer but I’ll live with it.

*edit. They sent me a new pulley without me asking for it. Great customer service
