What are the symptoms, and what is the question?

Corvair lifters are the same as Chevy V8 lifters from the same era. Lifters in a V8 re positioned at an angle, but the horizontal position in a Corvair engine can permit the oil inside the lifter to drain out when the engine is stopped. Because the lifter rotates in the bore and has an oil hole on the side of the lifter, each lifter may randomly come to a stop when the engine is shut down with some having the oil hole facing downward. After sitting for a while, the oil in the hydraulic lifter may drain out due to gravity, which can cause some lifters to cause valve train noise and clatter until oil pressure refills the empty hydraulic lifter. If this occurs the engine valve train noise will usually quiet down after a few minutes of operation, once the lifter has refilled and is fully functioning again to adjust the valve clearance to zero.

Hey Brad thanks for response, I have a misfire through carb when throttling and running on 5

I’m going to check
1/ all plugs Incase one is breaking down under load.
2/ compression on all cylinders
3/ air leaks.

Maybe the carb needs rebuilding? What do you think ?
