Hello All,
Looking for advice on where to attach ratchet straps with hooks to a late model Corvair. I see a elongated hole in the rear jacking pads. Is this the best location to attach the loose end of the strap with the hook into these holes? Typical both sides. What about using a axle strap around each half shaft, seems more secure, but maybe to much stress on the u-joints?
I will be trailing the car, Front forward, due to no Convertible top and I'm afraid of blowing the windshield out. The purpose of this trip is to have the top installed. About 150 mile winding roads and hills.
Strapping the front of the car is more straight forward, I've done that before. A axle strap around the center of the front cross member, then ratchet straps to the front corners of the trailer.
Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.
Thank You.

Strut rods give a good solid anchor in the rear.

This is the RTJ hook set that is designed to attach to body holes.
I think the T shaped one on the left is the one I normally use in the oval holes.
