Hello all, New to this forum but had a '65 Monza several decades ago.
This came up on a local forum and wondering if it would be something easy to flip?
Asking price is $600. I did notice the cut out fender wells in the back but looks all stock beyond that.
Guy says the engine turns over but knows nothing beyond that.
I know nothing about the values of this type of vehicle :-)

Might be worth the asking price? Looks really rough. I would not even think about buying it to flip. Do not think there is much money to be made there.

Interestingly though, it looks to be a deluxe with a windshield washer and a possibly stock radio. Probably 64/65 because of the engine access hatch, and absence of rear door rubber bumpers. I can almost imagine seeing an alternator, so if stock it could be a 65. Didn't 65s also have the extra fan belt guide next to the fan pulley on the turkey roaster?

Hopefully someone gets it added to the registry

You might flip it for a couple of hundred more it but it is unlikely in my opinion. Few buyers are willing to pay to transport a non-op vehicle very far. Local buyers won't pay much more than you are. A part-out job is often the only way to profit from a Corvair in that condition.

I agree with terribleted and azdave here....probably no meat on that bone for a flip. Although if the sheetmetal is good in the right places, it might be a nice donor for someone's rust bucket rampside/loadside project, not to mention all the peripheral goodies.

If the engine is good and you got it running and driving there might be a little in it but that is certainly a risk. Someone on the other forum said this is an 8-door. That increases the value.

I figured my friend on another forum might know that van and he does. Turns out two well known and very knowledgeable Corvair people in the area have considered purchasing. He said it is a 64, 8-door. If they didn't jump on that deal then I would probably wouldn't either unless it was for my own restoration project to keep long-term.
