Is there a way to remove the shift handle from the lever protruding from the dash?
The handle appears to be a separate 2 piece affair that joins together through the lever.
I thought it might screw together but I'd like to know for sure before I start.
Thanks.

Re: Power Glide shift handle
The chrome cone double cone shaped handle does screw together in the middle. Threads in one side and stud coming out of the other. The hard part is getting enough purchase to twist them apart without damaging the chrome.

Re: Power Glide shift handle
Thank you guys for getting back to me. I thought the halves screwed together but thought I'd ask before I put some muscle into it.
I'm hoping in the future, I'll do the PG floor conversion, but necessities first...

Re: Power Glide shift handle
I wrapped each side of the handle with several layers of tape, clamped each side with small vice grips, and turned. Came off easy and didn't damage the chrome.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Power Glide shift handle
Nice. sometimes they have been locktighted or made really tight and corroded and want to defy removal.
