1961 Corvair Rampside
1961 Corvair Rampside
i have recently acquired my first corvair a 1961 rampside and am wondering if anybody knows where i can find full steel replacement or patch panels for the rocker and lower bedside areas? i found fiberglass rockers on clarks, but i would prefer to use steel.

Fabricate the steel you need, locate NOS panels (very rare) or find good cut off sections from a rust free donar. Clarks does list 8" tall steel patch pieces for the side panel and ramp door.

Re: 1961 Corvair Rampside
I am not a fan of fiberglass panels blended into steel parts. almost always eventually there are issues mostly due to different expansion rates of the materials during temperature changes. If I can not get it in steel I fabricate it. I have not actually tried these fiberglass panels for this reason.
