Alternater rebuild not happening

Post by river_side »

My 64 was converted to an alternater.
All was fine until it wasn't...haha
Stopped charging.
I replaced all the components of the alternater, brushes, circuit board, bushing, everything.
But still no charge.
Where shall I look?
I do not know what had to be done when the conversion took place.
Maybe something having to do with the conversion?
Any thing that likely gets connected incorrectly when doing a rebuild?
Thanks

Does it use an external regulator or not?

here is basic wiring for internal regulator conversion. If the wiring is right and not charging then something is wrong with the rebuild. Sorry comes out upside down no matter how I orient it in the computer.
