Anyone know what this spring is for in the trunk?

I believe it’s for the jack or jack tools


1961 Greenbrier, 1962 Rampside and 1964 Monza cab.

ossieoz is right. it is to retain the jack & handle. there should be a hook mounted next to the spring near the steering box adjustment plastic plug cover.
