Well, it’s been awhile, but, you all are not forgotten.
I’ve done some pencil scratchings to make some mid engine ideas visible, dressing up the design to a later model year. The premise being that the Corvair production continued into the ‘70s.

This is a hot car!! I think i like image #14 best. The cutaway at the door, vents, size of back window, lowered. Sweet ride!

Less refined, rough around the edges. I'll do more to bring the impact bumper to '75 standards.
This iteration is a similar shape, familiar to 914 enthusiasts.

Well, all this drawing and 'imagineering' will, eventually, have a resultant.
So, start slicing and dicing any random derelict Vair into a polished gem, desired.

Modified to a Monza GT look, less radical than the '60s showcar, which incidentally, they built inside six months.

Here is a petite midengine, showing how very 'Fiat' the shape might evolve into, the b pillar close to factory.
A set of magnesium Campagnalo wheels would set it off, Pirelli Cinturato P7 a good choice for rubber.

Valkry9, you do some nice work. Whenever I get to working on my Corvair departure I will definitely be incorporating some of your ideas. The one you noted as Chevelle influence kinda reminds me of a Riviera styling.

Valkry9 - The red "Petite" mid engine drawing reminds me of a picture of a Corvair next to the 67 Camaro clay at the GM studios.

If you take your red "Petite" car and extend the front end forward of the windshield and door line, put a thick "C" pillar in and you'll have a look similar to the 67 Camaro. Most folks don't realize how much the Corvair influenced the early Camaro.

Dear GM, we know you are messing around with a future electric Corvette. Dont do it, leave it as a premiere GT with IC engine. As the other mfgs abandon IC engine cars, you will be at the top of that mountain. Instead, take the concept cars based loosely on the Corvair theme shown here and make this your electric GT. The Corvair was ahead of Porsche in turbo, ahead in flat 6 air cooled. Its time you jumped ahead again.

File from '18, a few details, 103" wheelbase.
Lighter wheels, serious raising of wheel arches to make room for the wider tires.
Petite swb Corvair LM, still aircooled.

Almost there, real close to the Corvair SWB, the two seat mid with much width for the wide low profile stickies, to heat the pavement.
Wheelbase ~ 97" , considering lowering, chopping the roof a couple of inches, for more rear glass rakeyness, slope.

Wheelbase 97",1750 Lbs, much wider fenders, flares, the SWB Corvair Stinger re-imagined for dual sprint track and road use.
Much modified skins, lighter, front and rear fascias to accommodate cooling and aero modifications, a belly tunnel to rear diffusers.
Fastback Targa housing integral cage required to handle tremendous aircooled power, a 9 cylinder Corvair Astro, turbos.
