Back To My Sandrail Roots!!!
Bought this blown methanol sandrail last February.
Only because it was the Corvair powered deal of the century!!!!
Then promptly broke it on the Sym-Tec American-Pi dyno.
Leaned out at wot and backfired through the blower.
Have not taken it apart...too many projects.
It will be at CA Corvairs Open House June 8th.
DAVE: Couldn't get the video to load...HELP!!

That is one nice "grocery getter"!
Sorry to hear of the malfunction.
You mentioned a video... did you successfully upload the video to YouTube? If so, what is the URL address? Any video must be uploaded to YouTube before it can be displayed on the Corvair Forum. Once it is on YouTube, a link can be set up on the Forum using the editor to display the YouTube video directly here.

Re: Back To My Sandrail Roots!!!
Gee, I wish my Corvair sounded like that!
... at least until the end!!!
Sorry for the laugh, but the dramatic, powerful startup that ended with a sad "pop" was a little funny! "There she blows!"
By the way, when you embed a URL on this Forum, use the Post Reply full editor (not the Quick Reply editor), and click on the URL button at the top. Then paste the URL address between the URL code boundaries. A similar procedure is used when posting a YouTube URL to embed a video. Just click on the youtube button instead of the URL button. To embed a static photo from another public website, click on Img and paste the photo URL within the Img boundaries.
The photo image URL can be obtained from any public website photograph (not private websites that limit access via password or other security measures) by simply right-clicking the photo and selecting Copy image URL on the resulting menu. You won't see anything happen, but the menu will disappear. Then go to the Corvair Forum editor, Right Click where the cursor is flashing and you want to paste the photo URL and click Paste on the menu. This will paste the photo URL address at the cursor location. If the resulting URL is surrounged by the Img boundary markers, the desired photograph from the source website will appear when you save or preview the Corvair Forum post. It may sound a little confusing, but it is easy to do and once you have tried it you will likely use it all the time!
By the way, the keyboard shortcut to copy something that is highlighted is Ctrl-C (press the Ctrl key and then press C while holding the Ctrl key down). Press Ctrl-X for Cut, and Ctrl-V for Paste.

Re: Back To My Sandrail Roots!!!
The dipstick was bent in the case.
Blower seals for sure are shot.
No compression in three holes.
Bent valve stems from concussion.
Could also be split jugs.
Still worth what I paid for it.
Even with a blown motor!!!
Oh well...thats racin'
