Rescued a '63 Coupe yesturday

Post by Scott H »

Well we rescued the sister car to the '65 Evening Orchid 4 door.
It is a 1963 Coupe, PG, Dealer installed A/C. The car has been sitting since 1968.
It has 60,000 miles on it. Some really neat old items inside too. I'll take some pics when I go through it and post them up.

Yep he said they used to tow a sailboat with it.

I Know, I am excited, only 5 years of running on the car! I can't believe it. ::-):

It's been parked longer than I have been ALIVE!!!!

That would be cool if the only reason they parked it was b/c of a broken rocker arm or something lightweight like that. That would be fun to hear it fire up for the first time since '68......clacking and wheezing to life.

I thought my '61 rampside had been hibernating a long time.... (since 1974) Your '63 began her nap when Hendrix was still alive.... I remember in the early eighties seeing ALOT of corvairs and to some extent early Novas @ the junk yards, I mean complete clean cars and we'd look them over trying to figure out how they ended up in the boneyard.... people were just throwing them away! Its nice to hear about someone saving another one...

They are still out there. My Spyder has been off the road since 72 or 73. 75,000 miles on it, original shocks, paint (or whats left of it.) I have no idea why it was parked. I haven't tried to start it yet.
