Headlight buckets.

Post by vaporloc »

Since my hood was shot with a gun new years eve on my 65 corsa vert, I figured I'd just as well paint the whole car. It had some other issue's that justified it.. Found out my headlight buckets were rusted out on the bottom side. I had some from a 66 car I parted out that were in nice condition. well most of you probably already knew this, or I guess I could have done a search, but they are different.. Learn something new everyday.. I have to use all of the 66 stuff.. Maybe these picture's will post and you can see how the 66 have tabs for the chrome in the bucket and the 65 have them on the whatyamacalit..

I found that out when I replaced one of mine. I bought a used one from Clarks, it didn't have the tabs for my 66. I called them up and they sent me an NOS one. It also came without the needed tabs for mine. I drilled out the old ones and welded them onto the NOS bucket.

Thanks for the pics!

I may have a nice pair of '65 buckets if you would like to swap. Let me check tonight.

Thank you but: The 66 buckets are already in and sealed with sealer.. Now the car is really close to paint and I really don't want to tear it all apart again to make it correct.. No one will ever know it has 66 style buckets in unless I tell them.. Are the 65 buckets a 65 deal only? Kinda looks that way...
