Dropped off the 63 Spyder in Washington

Post by importsmasher »

As I have mentioned, I have been working on a 50,000-mile 63 Spyder for my buddy. I picked it up for him in Denver after he bought it on eBay (it had been sitting in a garage for at least 20 years), and hauled it to my house in Utah to get it running.

I put a gas tank in it, rebuilt the carb, checked all the brakes, suspension, plugs, cap/rotor/wires, etc., and put about 100 miles on it before I took it to him. It runs good, but it leaks oil (push rod tubes I think). He is going to deal with that, as well as polishing up the paint and fixing up the interior.

He couldn't be more excited to have it. He has had two 62 Corvairs in the past (coupe and convertible), and has wanted another one for years.

Here's a couple of pictures of it at its new home....

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has replied to my questions as I was getting it up and running. I probably won't be posting much on here anymore, but I am encouraging him to join this forum.
