Excuse the language, but that was my first reaction and comment when I saw these pictures. You don't see many of these 1965 air conditioned Corvairs... at least I haven't! It sure looks like a maintenance nightmare!

haha wish my car still had all that stuff on it when i found it. i could tell my car had AC as the dash still had the ducts and the blower was in the trunk. but nothing in the engine was there and the intire system was toast.

Up to 1965 the condenser is mounted over the top of the fan, 1966 and up had it mounted in front of the air intake like that second pic.

What a huge design and engineering improvement in 1966! The 1965 comes across like a developmental prototype -- not a final product!

It is hard to find them like that I have only run across one. Most have been changed to 66 and later style or aftermarket.
