LEAST favorite Corvair model?
So. What is your LEAST favorite Corvair model?
This is not to bash people personally, and I don't want anyone to take this personally. I have had people tell me LM verts are at the top of thier list. Everyone has an opinion. :) Just wondering what your least favorite Corvair model is?
Mine would have to be the wagons. Something about thier looks make me quiver. My wife feels the same about them.
Kevin is any EM....

Ouch !Kevin is any EM....
Now you've opened a can of worms Ronnie
I like the Station wagons ! If this is really not meant to bash any one's cars I'll play along .
I'm a performance type guy and I look at my Vair as a sports car type vehicle .
History and originality are not too high on my list.
The reason that I really prefer the late models is the rear suspension . Along with the smoother more modern lines .
Remember that back when the late models came out their fresh styling was making headlines in all of the automotive magazines. I think the early coupes are cute and look really sharp when dressed up a little. So without hurting anybody's feelings the early model 4 door sedan is my least favorite from a styling standpoint. I do not dislike them tho

Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
Wow....this is really a hard one! I do like all 'vairs pretty much. Except....I don't think I could ever own a '60. Something about that concave front sheetmetal just doesn't do it for me. I even like the EM 4-doors and wagons (because they're freaky) to an extent. I also don't think I could EVER own an LM 4-door though. But my official position is: all corvairs are freakin' cool!
Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
I think it has to be the LM 4door for me, just a little dull looking compared to all other models
Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
gotta aggree...im not a 4-door guy...early or late.

Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
I dislike four door cars.. not just Corvair four doors, nearly ALL four door cars.
That being said I think I more strongly dislike the late model four door than the early... but I wouldn't be seen driving either
I think the main reason I prefer the early four door to the late is this car... pretty sweet for a four door!
Also, on the station wagon/lakewood topic... my four-door hatred applies to them but not as strongly. I'd really like to build a lakewood with coupe doors (long doors) and the roof lowered to coupe height... that'd be a sweet ride!
Missy LOVES Lakewoods, as do most of the ladies I know.

I don't think I'd ever buy a convertible. From there on my order of preference runs from round to square. Make sense?

Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
I can find something to like about every model... but the EM's are still the best...
Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
I agree with Grymm, , not a 4 door guy, but the earlies have that crazy roof, not really a converible guy either, but thats just cos I live in a cold climate
Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
I don't think I'd want a convertible in any climate. I've had three in the past (68' Vette, 91 Camaro and 92 Miata) and though I enjoyed them I found the drop top impractical. A big part of the problem is I don't like being in the sun.. it just makes me uncomfortable and I burn very easily.
The only time I really enjoyed the top down ride was in the evening or at night on those really warm summer nights... those are the best. It's just not enough to make it worth putting up with the extra wind noise and maintenance you get with a convertible.
As far as looks there are a few cars that I think look great as convertibles, and the Corvair's are on the list.

Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
I have one convertible, enough for me. Two if you count my Jeep CJ, although it takes a few more minutes to lift the hard top off. I'll never buy another vert if I can help it.

Vans 1st, then rampsides. All others I like. However with that being said, if I had the money I would buy a rampy already done and ready to drive.

Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
Not a big fan of EM four door cars, though they grew on me a bit after restroring one for my grandfather several years ago.
Re: LEAST favorite Corvair model?
I'd have to say the Loadside. Not having the side gate takes a whole lot of the utility out of the truck.

This model:
Or maybe what that represents is my least favorite Corvair OWNER. I still love the car. But whomever it belongs to should be strung up.
I kid.
