Custom LM Corvairs

Post by PairsNPaint »

Hi all! I'm looking for any links, info, or pics of customized LM Corvairs. Particularly interested in custom taillight treatments. I've only seen 2 pics that used 67-68 Camaro taillights, which I really like, but wondering about any other treatment that have been done. Also would like any links to "old school" interior, engine, suspension mods if they're out there. Thanks!

You are probably thinking of the "Solar Cavalier" Corvairs. Some had Camaro tail lights. Wild story of brothers who built custom Corvairs - viewtopic.php?t=9412

This late 4 door belongs to one of our Vintage Corsa club, in Orange, Ca. His name is KIX. His car is also lowered, bagged,& he has plans to customize the front too. The tail lights are from a '60's Couger. ( sequential too.) Its good to see some younger ideas join our group.

The 1967 / 1968 Camaro Taillight conversion was relatively easy as I recall and looked relatively good BUT....
The set up I liked the best was one I knew of that had 1967 GTO Taillights (Not Lemans) installed.
IF I were ever to consider custom Taillights in a late model Corvair, the GTO Taillights would be my first choice.
I never got any photo's of the car with these Taillights installed in it but can still visualize them in my memory.
