1963 Corvair Monza Spyder in "barn find" condition - price check and some questions

Greetings all,

A few years ago I inherited the '63 Corvair convertible shown in the photos. It was owned by my father and has been sitting parked for the past 50 years or so. The garage it is in needs to be torn down, so it needs to find a new home.

I think the photos fairly accurately depict the condition, except that there is significant rust damage where the driver's side door meets the front quarter panel to the extent that the driver's side door can only be opened part way. . . otherwise, the body looks to be in decent condition. No idea what the frame is like. 64,212 on the odo, located in southern Wisconsin.

Basically, I'm wondering what kind of value (if any) it has and what the best way to go about selling it is - craigslist? ebay? FB? Thanks in advance.

50 years is a long time to sit, even in an enclosed structure. Rust continues to eat away, as has happened here. For comparison, a couple of years ago there was a simular situation down here, even it being a '63 Spyder convertible. The car was far too gone with rust damage. It started on the local craigslist at 750.00 and included two extra engines (which I ended up owning). After some time, the car ended up in a small boneyard, where I purchased some parts. I believe it was eventually crushed.
Based on that, your best bet would probably be to advertise it here, and probably facebook marketplace where there are several Corvair interest groups. Items of value would be: The Spyder instrument panel, wiring harness, engine (if not locked up) and other parts. Pulling it outside and a quick clean up would also help. It's interesting that it has the extra diaphragm thingy normally associated with 62 turbos. Nothing wrong with it, just interesting.
I did some work on a 62 Spyder convertible from the UP a few years ago. He brought it when picking up his Rampside and I just about cried when they pushed it out of the trailer. It was worse for rust than the one here. What to do with it actually got to be a harder decision when I was able to get it running. I bet it was sitting since 1970 and someone had donated it to a Veterans organization where my guy got it. There's a 64 convertible for a rebody near me but the whole thing was a bit much to be feasible.
