FC Battery Box

Post by TXbarney »

Don't know if this is the right section of the forum .... tell me to move it if it belongs elsewhere.

Back when I owned a couple of 95's correct batteries were not that easy to find so I did this
out of the ordinary "optional" battery box. It fits in front of the left rear wheel. it attaches with
two existing bolts and the inside end sits on top of the sub frame and is held in place there with
a HD cable tie. You can tell from the dimensions it will accommodate a common battery size.
Also it is closer to the starter than the factory location. I protected it from the elements by cutting
a large plastic mud flap to cover the opening. The top of the mud flap fits into a body groove and the bottom
has a bolt thru it into this box. The common com I hear is " you have to remove the tire to change the battery"
True but how often do you replace a battery? Attached is a picture of one made from galvanized sheet.
Stainless would be a good option. The drawing shows the dimensions in the flat.
