Turbo Parts ID - Ongoing Effort
Separate from the complete turbo engines, there are a number of turbo parts here. I've never played with them, and don't know enough about them to be confident that I will be representing them properly when the time comes to sell.
Where possible, I am breaking the pile down into gallon-bag-sized groupings. So far, I have 21 of these groupings separated, marked, catalogued and photographed. There is another tote full of turbo items waiting the wings, and at least three other full crates hiding in the stacks.
Any help with IDing these things would be welcome. I will be keeping absolutely none of it.
1) Crown 5041 Exhaust Scroll - One Style
Not drilled for adjuster.
No ratio stamped into base of housing. Were these ever marked anyplace other than around the base?
2) Crown 5041 Exhaust Scroll - Another Style
Has adjuster.
No ratio stamped into base of housing.
3) Mystery Exhaust Scroll
Has something stamped into the base, but the outer surface is pitted. Not aware of what possible markings I'm looking for.

22) Some Things Are Too Large For a Gallon Bag
Air cleaner housings and heat shields. A bracket and an exhaust pipe.
The air cleaners are clearly 180s.
Heat shields. There appear to be two different types. Large dent and small dent. Is this a 180 vs. 150 thing? Same HP, but different model year thing? Spare tire vs none, or even coupe vs convertible?
The bracket. Positioned under the tin to help support the weight of the turbocharger?
The pipe. Not marked with a part number. Were these the same between the EM and the LM? If not, how to tell them apart?

Re: Turbo Parts ID - Ongoing Effort
On the heat shields the large dents are late. '64's are a one year only. It has the same small dent like other earlies but on what would be the front side is a large piece of sheet metal that is attached to the bottom lip of the shield. This shield was to protect the transaxle dipstick boot and is not seen when installed.

23) Turbo Exhaust Pipe and Bracket
In clean condition, but the pipe is two pieces. Can be indexed and either welded or clamped in a given position. Not sure whether this was someone's home brew or a company's product. Also not sure whether it was intended for a 150 HP or a 180 HP turbo.

Re: Turbo Parts ID - Ongoing Effort
That looks like a homebrew Matthew, and it is likely not going to fit a stock car, one would have to try mounting it on an engine on a stand with the passenger side shrouds in place, and then fab a crossover pipe to fit. That flange looks like a typical VW exhaust flange, the same that is commonly seen on 140 heads with 1-1/2" exhaust tubes, but I can't be positive, measure the ID on it and the the inlet for the turbo and let us know the size. Probably from a buggy project.
