Front Air Grill

Post by lalkie01 »

I have a number of trees on my property and the leaves keep getting in the air duct. Is there a grill I can put in or on the front air grill to reduce the build up?
Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Larry

Out here in the east where we have trees (Oak, Pine, Beech, etc etc), many of us glue the black nylon screen under the front air intake. Really helps a lot to keep the leaves out. The leaves getting into a pocket above the top hinges is a severe rust problem for the A pillar.

Just wondering how you cleaned the leaves from this area. Do you remove the air intake grill and vacuum the area out or do you try to vacuum it from the top. Larry

Vacuum from both above (under the air grille) and below, accessible through the kick panel vents. And lots of blowing air with an air hose/nozzle. There are places that will not come clean, but do as well as you can. :tu:

EMs have a hole in the bottom where you can clean it out.

Sounds like a tedious job. I hope to put in the screen as described and try to clean them from the top and bottom. Thanks Larry
