Even though this KiWi calls the wiper pattern the "triangle of doom": https://youtu.be/b6ADplGkQSk?t=1158

The problem in countries that drive on the "other side of the road" is the wiper pattern for U.S. cars doesn't work well. Many U.K. cars had two different setups for LHD and RHD.

I recall those Olds (and Buick, Cadillac) overlaying wipers. They were typically run by vacuum motor to be "quiet". Worked fine until the vacuum pump on the fuel pump assembly quit. Then every time you pushed on the gas pedal the wipers STOPPED!! They also left an annoying uncleaned spot on the windshield below the rear view mirror. This was before the Fed's passed rules for minimum wiper area. This led to creative designs. My favorite is the one MG with THREE wipers to meet global standards.
