Rear Window Zipper

Post by plrgpr »

Got back from a ride yesterday and a top corner of the rear window was hanging in the well, zipper is now completely shot. The top is absolutely like new. I see as the only option to replace the zipper is remove the top. I’m assuming a lot of expense involved with that. I’m thinking of getting a large needle and strong thread and sewing it shut????

You are right. Replacing the zipper or the rear window are almost as expensive and time consuming as putting on a new top. You can check with a local upholstery shop to see if they have any tricks but I would put the top up (not quite all the way to relieve the tension) and then sew it by hand.
