Hey All...
Iv'e got a 66 corsa and noticed that the Rochester carbs have different colors top vs bottom... the entire carb appears to be pot metal, but the bottom is pewter colored where as the top is a brass colored... Is there an reason for this, of is it just 60's bling...
Any input is appreciated...
Jeff

Just the way they were. I am unaware of a reason.

Re: Carb color
From what I've gathered, the bottom of the carb is a cast aluminum piece while the top is cast zinc or pot metal. The top was then zinc electroplated with cadmium (or similar) which gives it that gold color. Since aluminum is somewhat corrosion resistant, they only had to plate the top.
