Well.Looks like the ring and pinion set that makes axles rotate 'backwards' is the Good Guy way to do mid engine Corvair.
Finding a machine shop that can do ring and pinion sets might be a toughie.
Did somebody say there was a ring and pinion distributor willing to look through all ring and pinions for already made
ones that might work?
Other idea is for a machine shop to run off some 'rude and crude' ones that could be sold for 'limited use'.
Meaning they are not guaranteed to last a real long time in highway driving for instance.
At least you could get car built and it would move under it's own power.Always a plus!:)
Anybody have any ideas or leads let us know!

Re: Commissioning Reversing Rotation Ring and Pinion Sets
Years ago Richmond Gear made a 3:27-1 reverse ring and pinion for the late model Corvair.
Since they have done this once, it might be a good place to start.

Re: Commissioning Reversing Rotation Ring and Pinion Sets
Thanks.
That is a good idea.
I would say the market for them would be about 12-36 sets selling right away.
Then how many a year hard to say.
Looks like this would have to be a sponsor or patron type investment.
Little tough to pitch as a money maker.
Price point seems like it would be $400 per set at today's prices.
Let us know how to get this done.
