I was just going to replace a leaking fuel pump. I ordered a new pump from Clark’s along with a new rear motor mount and some other stuff. Took everything apart to replace the mount and thought I better check the balancer. It had not slipped yet but it’s getting close to coming apart. New one on the way.

Re: Harmonic balancer
That harmonic "damper" is long overdue for replacement. The rubber bond must "give" for the unit to work. Once the rubber gets hard from heat and age it needs replacing. The damper is a perishable item that should be replaced when the rubber gets hard. It helps protect the crankshaft.
Rebuilt and new are available.
