Car Quest/Advance Auto Fan Belt

Post by lalkie »

I purchased a top cog fan belt 15475 for my 65 Corsa. I hadn't seen these before and was wondering how they worked or if anyone has tried them before. On line they show a price of $12.39. I paid just over $20.00 and will be contacting the store. It seems logical a belt that would flex on the top would adapt to the two 90 Degree turns on the Corvair. Thanks for any information. Larry

Never had much luck with top cogs on a Corvair. You want a narrow belt that fits down into the pulley. The 3V560 is the correct belt made by Gates and available through Car Quest and other places. That same 3V560 part number is also available through industrial supply houses.

47.5" vs. 56" length. Is the "Top Cog" belt from CarQuest a Corvair belt for Air Conditioning?

I made a mistake in the part number for the belt. The belt I bought is 15560. It seems to run fine and I will try it for a while. It is guaranteed for 3 years so we will see what happens. Thanks for the help. Larry

I have used dayco 15560 top cog belts with good service in the past.
