Corsa silver paint

Post by gnrand »

I was thinking of repainting the silver paint at the rear of my '65 Corsa. I know Clarks has the paint in a spray can, I was wondering if anyone found another supplier of this paint.
Thanks

I searched "Corsa Cove Paint" and found all of these results.

Check out the second hit where someone listed the codes from various suppliers.

People use all kinds of paint. It comes down to how handy you are and what you want. To some "silver" is "silver, to others they want an exact match to the factory paint.

The original paint color was called "Argent Silver" and to complicate things GM had two different shades depending on the model year!! Chrysler and Ford also had a version of "Argent Silver". It's very popular as a trim paint on 60's and 70's wheels with trim rings.

I just used the generic GM code for Argent Silver and had it loaded into a "SprayMax" can and used the "SprayMax" semigloss clear coat. I'm happy with the results.

I went ahead and got the Argent Silver. More than enough in one can to do both cars and left over for touchups

Steve, I did a search for Argent Silver paint and most of the offerings are for wheel applications. Is this what you used?

You might try calling these suppliers. The rear cove flat silver finish was used on a number of Chevrolet products in the 1960s. They can certainly point you in the right direction!

I will photograph the can tonight. I believe it was either Ebay or Clarks... (sorry)
