 Any Corvair engine can be bolted into your 1966 Monza. Is it a desirable swap? Well, assuming the engine you mentioned in the 1963 Spyder is the original (engine serial number should end with suffix code "YR", standard steel crankshaft pulley (not a harmonic balancer), cylinder head casting numbers 3817286, 3817287, 3886248, or 3886249, you would have a smaller 145 CI engine instead of the original 1966 164 CI displacement engine. The turbo heads have a volume that produces only an 8:1 compression ratio. In 1966 the 110 hp and 140 hp engines had a 9.0:1 compression ratio. The 95 hp engine had an 8.25:1 compression ratio. The 1963 turbo camshaft was a 360 degree duration grind, which was slightly more aggressive than the 102 hp 352 degree intake/353 exhaust camshaft. If the turbocharger is not functional and is not used (substituting a pair of standard carburetors) and a standard distributor is substituted for the turbo distributor, the horsepower output would likely be 85-90 hp. If a suitable turbocharger is fitted, your 150 hp engine would demand Premium fuel, and the fuel mileage would be something less than the mileage normally found on the 102 hp engine (about 24 mpg). If normally aspirated, the low compression ratio would tolerate Regular fuel. If the turbocharger is not used, the turbo distributor is not appropriate for a normally aspirated engine. (The centrifugal advance curve is a mismatch and the turbo distributor lacks a vacuum advance).

The turbocharged Spyder exhaust system may not clear the Monza body properly. If installed without a turbo, using standard carburetors and linkage, a non-turbo exhaust system would have to be mounted.

The 1966 engine has a charging system that uses an alternator and matching voltage regulator. To fit this to a 1963 engine, the oil filter/alternator adapter from a 1965-1969 engine must be installed on the 1963 engine.

The 1963 engine perimeter sheet metal would not match the 1966 Corvair engine compartment shape, so engine sheet metal would need to be transferred from a 1965-1969 donor Corvair. if the turbocharger is retained, sheet metal mods would be needed to accommodate the turbocharger exhaust. If the turbocharger is abandoned, the oil return opening in the right head would need to be plugged.

The correct rear engine mount bracket must be installed on a 1963 engine...

The 1963 clutch assembly is a flat finger design, while the 1964-1969 clutch is a bent finger design. There are clutch component compatibility issues, as described below. Either a flat finger or a bent finger clutch can be used, but all components must be transferred as described below.

Personally, I would search for a good 110/140 hp engine from a 1965 or later Corvair for your 1966 Monza. If your 1966 is fitted with a Powerglide automatic transmission, the turbocharged engine is not suitable. The 1963 150 hp turbocharged engine (with a serviceable turbo) Is still not really an optimum engine if you intend to use it as a daily driver. It demands expensive premium fuel, gets poor gas mileage, and is difficult and somewhat temperamental to tune. The stock Carter YH carburetor has a poor reputation. Without the turbo it is underpowered and lower in torque than a 110 hp 164 CI engine.
