Automatic belt tensioner

Post by Auto Anatomy »

I know this has been discussed previously, but I just wanted to commend Ken Hand for the manufacturing of a great product that improves reliability for our Vairs.

After Springfest, I installed one of his belt tensioners on the Flooded Corvair and it's made a world of improvement in keeping the belt in place. Here's a quick video showing the installation and use.

Nice design! I’ve been running the Otto tensioner for 4 years now and just recently had to change the belt for the first time. I like that yours requires no tools, with the Otto I carry a small pair of vice grips to unhook and retook the tensioning spring. Also like that yours requires no modification to the car.

Unless I'm somehow missing it, I do not see the automatic belt tensioner listed on your webpage.

Since I am a 1 person operation there is no time to update the web page and I do not take orders from the web page, no time, and the notification sucks on stuff like that. I did it for a while and unless you are dedicated to that operation it is easy to overlook orders that come in.
