CORSA general info

Post by Scott H »

CORSA's website.
http://www.corvair.org

CORSA is a world-wide organization with 4,800 members and 125 local chapters worldwide. Founded in 1969, it is a large and enthusiastic group of automobile enthusiasts and one of the best single marque clubs in the world. CORSA, a non-profit organization, was incorporated to satisfy the common needs of individuals interested in the preservation, restoration, and operation of the Corvair. CORSA's long range goal is to promote reproduction of parts and render technical assistance to increase your enjoyment of the Corvair, and to further the general public's appreciation of the car.

Dues are $45.00 according the CORSA website.
I know they are working on implementing different membership levels. Maybe that's why your postcard had no amount. Kinda difficult to pay when you don't know how much! :dontknow:
I will contact someone from the BOD and find out more info for you.

Got a response....
Tiered memberships won't be in place for awhile. So it's $45.00 p/yr.

They are $45 now. I re-registered yesterday. Communique' is listed for $45 for 1 year, $90!! for two. Two years ago when I re-newed, it was $76 for two years...

I seriously debated on hitting that final button to submit payment. Times are tough for most and $45 is a LOT of food or helps on bills. Hopefully my wife doesn't :assault: me.

I wont pay that. I'd rather spend that on parts. Ive got enough people with their hands in my wallet already.

Here is some new info.......

All, For some time now I have been talking about some of the challenges that
CORSA is facing in these changing times. Today I am announcing one of the
changes the CORSA Board has made to help with these issues. Starting in January
of 2011 CORSA will publish (9) 32 page issues of the Communique. The production
schedule will be as follows: January-February, March, April, May, June,
July-August, September, October, November-December. This is an exciting and
innovative approach to how we communicate in this organization, and it will not
only save CORSA a significant amount of money in 2011, but will present us with
the opportunity to include more content in each magazine.

In addition to the new production schedule, CORSA has a new Feature Editor.
Terry Kalp has stepped forward and volunteered to take on the position and will
add a fresh, new perspective to the look and feel of the Communique.

Also, the CORSA Board members, along with the website committee and other
individuals are at this time alpha testing the new website. The site looks and
feels completely different than the old site and I know you will be very happy
with the end results. I am hoping that sometime in early 2011 we will be able to
go live with the new site. I will keep you posted.

Please feel free to post this message on your websites, put it in your
newsletters, and send it via e-mail to your fellow members.

Thanks
Jamie Reinhart
CORSA President
