Axle Check Tube GROMMET

OK mine did not have one of these when I got it (C8450) diff. dip stick tube GROMMET, does the rubber point up and toward
the rear on the motor side of the firewall or does it go on the front side of the firewall pointed down toward the diff.?

The rubber boot part goes forward of the firewall down toward the diff, so all you have on the engine side is the strip of rubber around your oval hole.
