Choke element replacement.
Choke element replacement.
Next project is to replace either one or both of the choke elements on my 110 motor, the rt one is lazy and doesnt go through a full range. The lt side is strong, do I do both, as I am already down there?
Then next question, is it as simple as unscrewing the linkage, pulling the rivet (or what ever you want to call it) from the head and pulling it out, then replacing it with a new one? Or do I have to pull the exhaust log to get it out of there? I dont want to do it right this second if I have to pull the exhaust, cause I would rather order the gaskets and have them before I do that then.
Thanks for your input.

Re: Choke element replacement.
The way that I remember it - it's just as easy as you described.
I'd probably leave the good one alone tho.

Realy just trying to figure out if it can be done without pulling the exhaust.
Thanks for the input.

IIRC, the log has to come off. Which is why I have put off replacing one of mine...

Re: Choke element replacement.
I may just order the exhaust gaskets, and do it to it.

Re: Choke element replacement.
Ok, finaly got this done.
Yes you can replace the choke element without having to pull the exhaust.
Pry out the old one, and slip it off the rod.
Its a little tricky getting the rod back on the element, but it does go back together, then just put the new rivet in to hold it in place.
Purty simple.
