Valve/Piston Slap Not So Good!!

Post by Phil Dally »

The good news is I bought six extra inconel exhaust valves.

How much is scrap inconel worth at the recycle joint?

Don't have anything to do with assembly.

The cam gear spun on acceleration at October event.

Phil - are you using a stock timing gear ?

Have you thought about pinning it ?

I'm using an Otto fail-safe gear and so far so good.

That's what you get for "Cheatin"

It's an Otto fail safe.

Not completely disassembled yet.

Could cracked in half cam.

Crew-chief is splitting case tonight.

We found a big chunk of rubber in the oil pan.

Got 5 years out of the hot rod motor.

Should have exploded a long time ago.

I'm more than please with my dollar value.

Initial purchase was 4K complete ready to run.

Spun the crank gear...not the cam gear!!!

So I'm using my Star Cook doweled & welded crank.

And we will set screw the cam gear.

Fail safe gear did not fail.

Has not been pressed apart...pictures then. :tu:

Yeah - I'd say you got your moneys worth out of it Phil.

My crank gear and my flywheel are dowled along with using oversize bolts.

I've dealt with Starr Cooke- Nice guy with quality stuff !
