please help
i have just got my hands on a sweet rail with a corvair motor very fast by the way.. can anyone tell me how to determine the year of the motor thanks
Re: please help
Look on the block, just forward of the stand the alt/gen and idler sits on. Between there and the shroud, there will be a number stamped into the block. Post the number here, we can tell you.
Re: please help
Even better would be to get the numbers off the heads. Almost any block can be used to build any type of engine, the heads have more to do with what it actually is. Head numbers are on the ends, but hard to see in a normal Corvair that's fully assembled. Might be easier in a rail.

Re: please help
That # is for a 65 or 66 140 according to the CORSA tech guide. You have 4 carburetors?
