Tie rod ends

Post by Corvaircar »

I purchased new tie rod end from Clarks and rebuilt my steering linkage last winter, before I finally install them is it possible to identify the inner from the outer. I think that the left hand thread was the inner but would like to know for sure prior to bolting it down.
Thanks

On an EM, they’re quite a bit different, inner tie rods have a longer shank before the threads than the outers. So easy to tell.

On the LM’s, the inners are left hand thread, outers are right.

Thank you, I had it correct and will look for the shank length difference to confirm also. So happy to have everyone's help when I post questions.
Cheers. Robbie
