General Info

Post by JDGriggs »

About two weeks ago I purchased a Monza with a powerglide and 110... and I have zero experience with that transmission. I haven't actually driven it much since the purchase except ~20mi on the interstate, and it died on me. (Not sure why yet, haven't had time to dedicate, I think maybe vapor lock? Really hot day, 4500' altitude, cruising at ~65mph, kinda just faded out, temp light didn't come on.)

So I'm just looking for some general info:
- What is the power band of the 110?
- What is redline?
- What is top suggested highway cruising speed/ RPM for long distance?
- Is there a good/bad way to drive the PG?
- Any good-to-know stuff about the PG?

If everything is maintained - oil, tune etc & the oil cooler and cooling fins are clean there is no reason you can't run a 110 full throttle for as long as you want. That's probably around 90 mph.
Just don't let it ping.
