66 Corvair conv lifter adjust
I replaced the pushrod seals and tried to adjust the lifters i put it at top dead center and adjust the required lifters but when i rotate the motor counter clockwise the lifters i previously adjusted are really loose what am i doing wrong, this is the first time i have ever done this

You should be at TDC on compression stroke, if not you will have issues. Remove distributor cap check if rotor is pointing to plug wire tower of cylinder you are adjusting .

Just set them again. There are only 2 positions using that method so if you got it wrong on the first one then the 2nd rotation has to be right.

Thanks I'll try that, because when i adjusted them the first time the motor ran really rough and the lifters were real noisey

If you have the engine in the correct position then generally you will have a similar number of threads showing out of the adjusting nuts.
