I see California Corvairs says they have the right "boots", like I always did. Seth set me straight, those rubber things so important to keep the air inside the upper shroud are seals!

The boots are the rubber pieces that go onto the wire ends (different shape) and the seals go onto the boots on the spark plug end (to seal the air). :tu:

Now that is your Corvair trivia for the day, go play Trivial Pursuit.
:rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Yes, we will still call them boots.....

Avoid the flap seals like used on the slant six.

All our vendors like Clarks, California, John Sweet and Seth Emerson are very good. If something is ever wrong they will make it right. :ty: :ty: :ty: :ty: :ty: :ty: :ty: :ty:

Also our "sub" vendors who sell through the above vendors, like Russell Davis (Blue Chip Machine [tools and hardware]) and Corventure Dave (his name on CCF that hot rivets flywheels). :chevy:

This is an old thread (2019) that got revived.

I'll say I had a great experience working with Seth to make the spark plug wires I wanted.

Considering each year finding supplies for or cars gets more difficult, do what I did - ORDER A SPARE SET for the future.

Good point. I have to say that whether it's been our new-to-us Corvair, or my old Brit bikes, locating needed parts hasn't really been an issue on either. Fortunately, the market is still active enough to support the manufacturing of repops and of course, as opposed to when we were all younger, the internet has changed the entire game. "Click click!" and wait for the mailman. Gotta love it, especially for those of us who live in the sticks. :tu:

My customer last year bought AC spark plug wires from Rock Auto and they are probably the worst I have ever seen. You can't remove a wire without the end coming off.
I buy wires from Seth Emerson.
