Re: Help on how to remove ....
It has been many years, but I believe they just popped out when I used a scraping tool to pry them away from the insulation. The metal fingers may break. You may choose to replace them with a plastic set as shown in the Clark's catalog. I couldn't find any mention of these clips in the 1966 Fisher Body Service Manual.

A flat right angle carpenter's "Wonder bar" also works great. I have a smaller one in plastic for wiper arms and exterior moldings. Plus you already have a non-marring pad in place
Re: Help on how to remove ....
I use a door panel puller tool. It works great.
Note: I have heard that the 65 metal retainers sometimes come loose and can be "eaten" by the fan. Not good. Many people use the 66-69 plastic retainers for that reason. Those plastic retainers often get destroyed when removing so get a few extras.

Re: Help on how to remove ....
I used a small pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze the tabs together. They came right out. My 69 for whatever reason has a full set of metal retainers not plastic.

I should have added - slide the pliers between the clip and the lid to release.
