crack in fan housing cover

Is this serious? do I need to replace? any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

That might be a casting "wrinkle", not unusual. The only way to tell is to look at the other side to see if it is a fracture that goes through the material.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't believe it is a crack either. If you aren't pulling the cover, don't do it just to check the backside. Take some sandpaper and smooth out the ridge and then see if you can still detect a crack or not. Bell housing often have those ridges like that too. They cause many false alarms.
