Ed, Not to be a PITA, but the picture you show, originally from Dave Motoheads post in the CorvairCenter Forum, is of an Aries forged piston, not a KB hyperutetic as sold by Corvair Underground!
So the question remains
Anyone have a set of the pistons in question that can measure the offset?

I have a set but they're in my car! They don't slap even when cold like forged pistons will with the added ptw clearance that is necessary for forged pistons. Hypers don't expand as much and can run tighter clearance.

Thanks, good to know.
So your experience is that without the offset, these pistons are fine because of the tighter clearances.
Another plus is that you can't put the rods on wrong.
