interior paint

Post by dansk »

New to this forum and could use some help. I'm restoring a 65 Corsa with a 773 color code. I would be a fawn interior. I'm at the point of painting the inside. Question is what color does the dash, steering column, tops of doors, steering wheel and plastic trim pieces have. Looking for paint numbers and what to use.
Thank you for any help.

Black
Lucite® Code - 88 (semi-gloss)
NOTE: Unpolished LUCITE® will generally produce a gloss comparable to original interior semi-gloss finishes. If lower gloss is required, use DuPont #4528 flattening compound to reduce gloss.

Taken from this website. http://www.oldride.com/library/1965_che ... rvair.html

Admittedly I have not done a repaint of my interior yet. So hopefully someone who has actually done it will respond.

The interior is not black, but Fawn. I know it is a two tone along with the steering wheel. What paint, where and color codes?

The interior code should be listed on the body tag. Here are a couple links I found that may help some. The first one is written as 1966 specific but 65 is very much the same.

As I posted in the first post, the color code is 773. Anyone have a fawn interior they could post some pics of? Thank you for the links. The 65 shows 4 different Fawn colors. Now which ones to use. Any thoughts guys?
thanks, Dann
