What is this spring for? Passenger side.

This spring is not stock. Some PO's idea for increased throttle return pressure I bet. Can not tell by photo exactly where this is but I'm betting spring was connected to a secondary carb. I would remove it, as only 1 return spring should be ok on the throttle linkages if they are set up properly.
Corvair guy since 1982. I have personally restored at least 20 Vairs, many of them restored ground up.
Currently working full time repairing Corvairs and restoring old cars.

It is NOT anything that GM put there. There are several short grounding straps around the perimeter sheet metal that connect to the engine compartment perimeter frame, but no spring.

Alan, I bet that was the return spring for your secondary carb, Remember the other one had a tab on it for the spring?

Hey Dave, that little notch is on the other side and I'm utilizing that little spring you gave me, just softened it up. :tu:
Since this Corsa and motor had a missing carb set when I found it...who knows.
